Regional Workshop for Driving Sustainable Innovation: eBeam and X-ray Technologies

The RCA Regional Office, in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Office of Radiological Security (ORS), organized the Regional Workshop for Driving Sustainable Innovation: eBeam and X-ray Technologies for the Future from 21 to 23 October 2025 in Incheon, Republic of Korea. The workshop was organized under the framework of the partnership project between the RCARO and NNSA ORS (2024–2028), which supports the adoption and advancement of electron beam (eBeam) and X-ray technologies in the fields of food safety, environmental management, industry, and healthcare across the Asia-Pacific region.
The event convened approximately 100 professionals and experts from RCA Government Parties and stakeholder organizations. The workshop explored current advancements and practical applications of electron beam (eBeam) and X-ray technologies across food safety, healthcare, industry, and environmental management. Through technical sessions, regional case studies, and expert presentations, participants gained insights into operational practices, mobile and AI-driven solutions, and commercialization strategies, while exchanging experiences on the adoption of alternative irradiation technologies in Asia and the Pacific.
